Vote Micah Talbot for Sheriff MAY 21, 2024

This is a good read. Im encouraged by this race for sherriff. To have three capable candidates is great! For me it comes down to what is important to you as a voter. Do you like it how it is? Do you want to see our sherriffs office improve? What are your top concerns? Im confident that all these gentlemen are capable. Personnally i am dicouraged by the lack of accountability and transparency from our local police. I am discouraged by the lack of focus on controlling the drug problems in the city and county. Having a firm but fair police force is important. I will be casting my vote for Micah Talbot.

Important decisions should involve research. Our interpretation of research is influenced by our experiences. I gained over 20 years of experience working in public safety for Salt Lake County Fire/Unified Fire Authority. I also gained experience working as a volunteer in a small community. So my experiences in bothe rural and large metropolitan public safety arenas helps to influence my interpretation of my research.

I support Micah Talbot in his campaign for Sheriff of Franklin County. Micah came to my home to sit down with my wife and I to discuss his views, plans, experience, and values. It was an open discussion. Micah not only expressed himself, he listened and encouraged input.

I firmly believe Micah has the tools to be a great Sheriff and is a valuable asset to the community.

Great man for the Sheriffs position at this time with a lot of good plans to improve the department.

When I started my career 22 years ago, Micah trained me. I’ve worked alongside of him in corrections and then later as a patrol deputy and school resource officer had a very large high school with many challenges. The administrators, teachers and students all loved him there, and that says a lot. Micah is a good man of character and a devoted American who will uphold the constitution. I worked along side Micah in Corrections! He was an outstanding officer then. Not only did he do his job well, he was esteemed by his colleagues as reliable, dependable, knowledgeable and most of all a friend to all! That was 15 years ago. He has since taken those attributes and grown into quality Sheriff material!

Oh man, tears come to my eyes remembering my time as a police wife. It is amazing what they do! I could never do it. And being a completely emotional being myself, it was hard in so many ways. I am so grateful that this county has you and Micah Talbot. We need you!

How Many Of You Actually Knew I Was A Member Of The Idaho Falls Police Citizen Watch For 5 Years? I Was Traffic Detail For Drug Busts & A Few Auto Accidents? Had Breakfast With 8 Officers At 3:00 am? Was A SWAT Dummy For SWAT Scenario’s & Actually Know What A Pellet Gun Feels Like After Being Shot? I’ve Sat in On 4 Hours Of Dispatch Calls? Micah Had No Idea! When We First Moved From Idaho Falls To Preston & I Brought The Subject Of A Citizens Watch Program Up With The Sheriff Was Told “There Would Be No Interest” *Micah Said A Lot Of Kids Are Interested In Junior Academy. *I Asked Him Where We Get K9 If Needed Soda Springs, Pocatello Or Logan. Micah Is Looking Into a Couple K9s For Franklin County. *We Use to Have A SWAT Team? *Plans For A Better “Christmas Shop With A Cop (Deputy)” *Extra Drive By Senior Housing Areas *Stronger Neighborhood Watch Programs A Lot Of You Are Thinking Should I Be Asking These Kind of Questions?

If You Want The Best Sheriff For Franklin County…Then YES You Need To Ask Questions Without Being Rehearsed.

I support Micah Talbot for Franklin County Sheriff. I do also however strongly support the idea of every person who wants to vote to get themselves educated on the candidates that are running. Follow their campaign pages, ask questions, ask even more questions. Make sure that YOU believe in that person. Please don't go vote because your neighbor has someone's sign in their yard or because you think you should vote for who I want (I wish it was that simple). I hear there are 5 running, I really only know of 3 so that's who I'm gonna mention in this lil post. Micah joined the dept after RETIRING in Utah. He still even in this crappy day and age had the desire to serve others. He hasn't always lived here and has had the opportunity to serve in different capacities in law enforcement. We NEED a change here, it's not a secret. It's gonna take someone that hasn't been involved heavily with this dept to get that done. Now the other 2 candidates, they've also both served their communities for a long amount of time and should be commended on that. But one isn't even "certified" in Idaho for law enforcement. Now before his supporters come at me, I KNOW this position is an elected position and they don't have to necessarily go thru the Idaho POST program, BUT would you go see a Doctor that didn't have a current license hanging on their wall? I know I wouldn't. And if only I could retrieve the saved images off my old phone from his last run where he publicly put down our emergency service depts in multiple social media posts. How could he get respect as a leader from those whom he threw under a bus to win a few votes? The current officer who is also on the ballot has been a vital part of our community for a long time too. But we need and deserve change and how does that get accomplished from someone who's already so heavily involved with the dealings here? How things have been ran is all he knows and thats what we need the change from. When what we need the change from is endorsing him, how much different are they really going to be?

Take some time to get educated, not everyone will think like me and that's great. It's what makes this country so amazing, we get the chance to vote for what we each believe in and we get to express that on our personal sites.

To end this long post, I'm just gonna ask one thing and that is, please don't make your decision based on promises of 24/7 coverage. It'd be great and I'd pay more taxes to get it done but it's not that simple. With that being your biggest thing to talk about, it makes it sound like the last mayor campaign...... "I'll change your road back if you vote for me." There's way bigger problems to be solved in our community than 24/7 coverage and State Street. 😉

I feel that I need to make a comment on this post. I put a post on facebook a week ago, I specifically encouraged those who are running for sheriff to post more information about how to get in touch with them to ask questions one on one. Micah Talbot responded immediately and I called him with some questions I have been wondering about for a long time about what would happen when we were to elect a new sheriff. Micah was what I felt very honest and truthful on how he answered what I asked him. I won’t go into detail on what we discussed, but he did answer my questions to my satisfaction and I am putting my support behind him for sheriff. I did also talk to some of the other candidates, but I felt more confident with how Micah answered my question than anyone else. I will just leave it there and just want everyone to know I am supporting Micah Talbot for our sheriff.
